Guidelines for acquiring and maintaining  of the safety training.

The circular RSV 08-2006 contains the guidelines for acquiring and maintaining minimum safety competence according to STCW 95. The circular also explains which documentation is required to prove the necessary level of training in accordance with the STCW code.

Guidelines for the sanctioning of safety training from foreign countries

Here you will find the Norwegian Maritime Directorates instructions (V-5/2003) for the sanctioning of safety training undertaken abroad. The directorate will approve different types of safety training carried out in accordance with the STCW agreement in EEA countries and other nations having bilateral agreements with Norway. The sanctioning of the safety training will be done in accordance with the rule 1/10 of the STCW 95 convention. It must be documented that the safety training is approved and has been carried out at a training facility approved by the administration.
